Bioethics Before and After the Pandemic

Bioethics is the study of moral values in health care and the life sciences.  Since the growth of interest in bioethics since the 1960s the main topics have focused on clinical care, human experiments, and the practice of science and technology. Ethical issues in public health have been a lesser topic, with the significant exception of the issues raised by HIV/AIDS.  It now appears that, as in so many other sectors of human society, bioethics faces a reckoning.
